Solo #4

Murgatroyd Are Go!

It’s been a while peeps. Apologies. Busy times. Music seems to be ever in a state of flux. The not-so-good-news is that FO2 are taking a break before recording the second album, the follow up to the critically acclaimed ‘Casting Shadows.’

I say ‘not-so-good-news’ but hopefully it will mean a refreshed and focussed crew upon return to the mother-ship (man). In the meantime that has given me a little bit of extra time to rehearse and record with the Mighty Murgatroyd (Check out our tracks on Facebook) – a good ol’ fashioned Rock covers band. Um, but heading into the more obscure waters of Be Bop Deluxe and the like.

This week’s blog is also to showcase a new solo – I make it #4 but I may be wrong. The upgrade to some new equipment – ie ‘phone’ – means the sound and video quality is better nowadays – and, with all that time to practise so should the playing be!

I have been aiming at groove, experimentation, texture and dynamics for some time now – as regular readers may know – I must say on #4 I am coming close to where I’d like to be.

Special dedication

This solo is dedicated to the lovely Elizabeth Rose, 6 days old today! Enjoy!

’til next time…
