Well, after slaving over a hot mixing desk the first track is ready – well, almost!
Being creative types we have plenty of ideas of how to enrich the tracks already recorded – discussions included the inlcusion of ice cream van and seagull sound effects!
But, give or take a few tweaks, the basic musical pieces are ready. We have to find a way to overcome the lack of vision presented by Soundcloud and the like not allowing tracks that are longer than 4 minutes or so. This little slide show is one way around this problem.
I hope you like it…
Kit wise I would like to make a few alterations to the sound. The bass or kick drum is to die for, but the snare sound is softer than I would normally use. Also the high toms need to be brought forward a little more as a couple of the fills don’t immediately cut through.
The takes are pretty solid, given the fact we were trying to record 4 tracks in a day. If I had unlimited (or at least more) I would have another try and put in some more fills or riffs to add some extra energy.
But all in all a good product from a fun couple of days work. I look forward to recording the next four so that the album is complete!
‘Til next time,
Seex
