Howdy folks,

It’s been awhile since I’ve uploaded any video but there are a lot of god reasons for this!

FOII have been busy making a video of their own, which is being edited etc as you sit here and read this. Hopefully it will be ready for sharing before Christmas.

I’ve also been involved in another musical project – more rock with a tinge of the progressive – and some really good tunes will hopefully come out of that. The original intention is just to record some material for an album but a live outing may be on the cards too. I shall keep you posted.

Also on the recording front I’m over to the FOII palace this week to lay down the drum tracks for the two newest completed tracks – ‘Leaving It All Behind’ and ‘Secret Shadow’ – one of which, , had it’s live debut at the gig in Brighton last month.

We have some new drum mikes to record with so Ben and I are going to have a happy day footling around with those and seeing what we can get.

I’m quite looking forward to recording with just a click track and a bit of keys – an interesting challenge. But I know the parts pretty well so hopefully it won’t provide too many headaches!

On the practising front I keep coming back to the 3/4 time whenever I first sit at the kit. It’s a nice time signature – it has, it seems to me, a built in rythmn and a lightness that’s lovely to play with.

So, I sat with the camera running and just edited together any interesting bits. (Not all in 3/4 but that’s improvising for you!)

Enjoy!

‘Til next time,

Seex
