Free Style intro for Drum solo – idea #1

Well, the guys in Fusion Orchestra 2 have given the ultimate vote of confidence – “Would I like to do a solo at the next gig?”

Er…yes! So, I’ll be cataloguing the progress here.

My first attempts this afternoon were a bit ‘formulaic’ – or maybe I should say, were just the kind of thing I would sit down and play as a warm up. So, I decided to try and push for something a bit different – for me anyway.

I wanted to start with something I could be expressive with but also something that might give the audience a way in, rather than just starting bashing away in a traditional ‘Rock’ way.

I’m quite pleased with some of the chops, obviously I’ll have to cut it down a tad. ANd work out the next section.

But, I’ll keep you posted.
